CAEF submission to European Commission
CAEF Text submitted to European Commission's 'consultation' on ISDS (Investor-state Dispute Settlement).
----
The European Trade Commissioner and Commission are conducting secret negotiations to set up tribunals and courts over and above national courts and parliaments. The fact that ISDS is being kept secret is against all the norms of international law and an attack on the democracy within nation states. It is also an attempt to further diminish and weaken the powers of nation states to allow unaccountable transnational corporations to dictate their objectives and profit motives. ISDS must be stopped and negotiations brought to an end along with the TTIPact (Transatlantic Trade and Investment Pact).
